the interprofessional commission of ohio

The Interprofessional Commission of Ohio is a non-profit corporation housed in the Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology. We bring professionals together to work collaboratively around complex social issues in order to improve professional practice, service delivery, and public policy.  Based on the belief that society’s problems are too complex for one profession to solve, we work with students, academicians, practitioners, and community members to identify and address the systemic causes of, and the conditions that foster, ongoing inequities and professional isolation in our society.

Working collaboratively with the Colleges of Education, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy, the Schools of Allied Medicine, Public Health, and the Theological Consortium of Greater Columbus, we deliver interprofessional education training at The Ohio State University through graduate coursework.  We  also provide additional services including:

  1.   Professional Development

  2.   Program Evaluation

  3.   Curriculum Development

  4.   Policy Analysis

  5.   Program Delivery

Bringing various invested constituents together around a common interest provides a best-practices model whereby the skills, expertise, and talents of individuals and groups are utilized in an efficient and comprehensive manner.  Interprofessional collaboration rarely just happens; rather it must be a purposeful investment to ensure the best outcome!

changing the world by working together

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”
